It's been quite a ride, and thank you for having me. I'll probably still be checking the encoding forums every now and then, but a moderator spot is best left to more active users, so congrats to Cirera, and I hope that more users will show up for the role!

Re: A Nameless God
An AMV by requiett...? Wait, what year is this?! Extremely solid sync as per usual in your videos. Extremely polished visually as well, soundbars aside. Older videos of yours have a kitsch feel to them, due to their obviously older effects, when seen nowadays, but this one is a lot more refined and ...

Re: Did Adobe Premiere get discontinued?
Mau, you had a good reasoning up until you said to throw avisynth away. Avisynth (or raher, I'm using avisynth plus these days, and there's also vapoursynth as an option) is still key to having a proper handling of video footage, and competent users will want to keep using it for any footage prepara...

Re: Help with a crashing virtualDUB
Consider updating to virtualdub2, as well: https://sourceforge.net/projects/vdfiltermod/
It really is a valuable improvement over the original virtualdub.

Zooming artifacts are quite visible, you'd have a video that'd keep going back and forth between sharp and blurry due to that, and it's going to detract from the experience. Doing 2:35 will at least give a cinematic feel (which often goes well with AMVs) and it'll als...

Re: Japanese DVD vs. Japanese BD Help
I think I might have confused you a bit about what I wanted you to check with those codes, but we still got a proof that the BD is royally screwed up beyond repair. As for upscaling suggestions... Ideally I would be suggesting SRGAN for any and all upscale needs, but current implementations are stil...

Re: Japanese DVD vs. Japanese BD Help
Bloody hell! Yeah that's crazy, but if the smoothlevels didn't fix this, it likely means detail was killed (that's what it looks like from the histogram, at least). I'm not sure how well the guides cover this fact, but basically pretty much any YUV content made for TV/home video/streaming/cinema is ...
