PHP Questions...

Post by klinky » Tue Dec 02, 2003 9:56 pm

Simple! Yes...

How would you go about exporting double quotes( " ) with the ECHO function/command... Maybe you can't. Maybe you're suppose to go

Code: Select all

<?php
[some code]
?>

<a href="<?php ECHO $url; ?>"> <?php ECHO $url; ?> </a>

But it'd be easier if I could just do it with the damn ECHO command.

Atleast I think it would. I am from VB stalk and I could just have used CHR$(47) or so to export a double quote. But I am clueless as to how I could do something similar in PHP.

42, there. Are you happy now?

Enclose it in single quotes? I'm not sure, I've just started to play with PHP and haven't even gotten a simple photo gallery to work yet.

Escape the quote. i.e. use a backslash before it (\").

Sexy :O I just figured the single quote thingy out... I should have searched google a bit more before posting... But that \" escape thing might help out too with javascript where you have to use " & ' on the same line alot of the time... ":O

Well so was the 42 thing, so don't feel bad.
