Since most everyone liked the category special names last year (but wanted different names), I'm starting up this thread for suggestions from everyone to category names for this year's (and maybe future) VCA contest.

If we do go with a theme name, can the theme name not be the actual title? Like let the thread title be "Best Action Video", and then have the thread refer to it as the "MAKA SMASH!!!" inside the thread with a cutesy picture of a soul eater reference? (Just as an examle, I don't actually want to submit that...)

Because the one thing that I didn't like about last year's VCAs was having to cross-reference which title belonged to which category theme.

Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and echo the previous sentiments. You want a running theme? Sure. But I'd suggest keeping it restricted to the forum threads and the category descriptions. The easy-to-understand categories above should be front and center. The back and forth deciphering that people did last year and even the hovering over the name to figure out what category it actually was supposed to be was more unhelpful and confusing than it was fun.

To be clear, I'm not against doing a theme, just not when it gets in the way of actual functionality.

There's where I'm at. I honestly don't really care either way. I think some people liked them and I'm all for people having their fun but lets make sure it's functional and not confusing.
