JOURNAL: Douggie

  • April and AMVs 2008-04-01 09:10:57 So I saw this message, like everybody else about the YouTube uploaded video. The funny thing is that it said "World is Living" was uploaded and at that moment, when I saw that, I thought "I already know it has been uploaded".

And a few split-second later I thought: "is that for real? how do they do that?" and figured out it was an April Fools joke. I clicked on the link and luckily I didn't have my headphones on!

when you think about it, this probably the first approved link on the .org going to YouTube and more specifically, the first time YouTube isn't "censored" to BoochSack (or Hostachel for the people who still remember that)!

On a more serious note, I wanted to edit a video for Anime North, because that's the fourth-most biggest anime convention of last year (so probably just as big this year). I started with an idea a week ago - which I thought I could finish quickly - and then figured out that the idea would take some time to finish. Guess that'll be my ACen-vid then.

So I switched ideas - and picked a 45-second song. I started editing for 2 hours yesterday and had the 45 seconds done and then did another hour of tweaking. It's pretty lame though as I use a technique I don't like to use often - but am using now to experiment some with it. I think I'm going to put an intro (I already have a lame idea) as extra, and maybe an outro tonight if I have some time...

Then it's my first finished AMV for this year! (which is probably just as bad as my IC-videos as I worked about 4-5 hours on it)

Now to finish my Animecon-entry - which has to be done before April 18th!

I wonder how I'm going to manage that...

  • More journals! 2008-03-25 06:47:28 Besides the WordPress-powered journal I have on my own site (http://www.leiseus.net/journal) I just created a new one on LiveJournal - on recommendation of AtomX (he gets paid for bringing people over to LiveJournal :P). LiveJournal really sucks in terms of functions and especially in layout - as it looks like they have it designed by HTML-coders who are stuck in 1998 when tables just existed.

Or they just want people to buy new layouts in the super premium LiveJournal subscription.

But what great about it is the whole community-aspect and boy, it seems that a lot, and I actually mean A LOT of AMV-editors are located in LiveJournal, which is actually a greaat discovery! I just don't understand how people blog here and in LJ and post messages on the forum and are in IRC and then have time left to edit AMVs!

At this moment I have nobody added me yet, so feel free to do so if you think my writing will be interesting!

Oh yeah, the address is: http://leiseus.livejournal.com

    Have fun!

  • Lost and probably never to be found 2008-03-18 17:49:19 I'm the type of person who always double check: did I close the door correctly, did I take my keys, didn't I forget something. Etc. And for some reason, it's always correct: I did close the door correctly, I did take my keys and did not forget something.

And there's this one time I did not double-check and of course I do forget something.

Today after work I went to the gym and afterwards to the library. Just before I left the library I wanted to get my Zune to listen to music on the way home and realized I left it at the gym. On a threadmill.

    That one time...

There's probably not much chance the person who found it gave it to lost & found - at least I know a lot of people won't. So I'm gonna check the gym tommorrow once it opens if it's there and I'm already checking out 2nd hand sites and eBay for Zune (because without the cable they cannot do anything with it, unless they import one from the USA - it all depends on how smart they are). If I find it there then I'm probably just gonna meet up with that person and just take the Zune out of their hands.

    There can be complications though.

If that's a guy who goes to the gym then he's probably going to be stronger than me. On the other hand, strong guys don't go running on threadmills - they' got better things to do. If it's a girl, well, I just hope she doesn't have strong boyfriend. Or there's nobody around who tries to play the hero.

But who am I kidding, it's never gonna happen. I just feel stupid I didn't check, my own stupidity...

So I got nobody to blame but myself I guess..

I'm just glad I didn't used my 150 euro headphones at the time...

(sorry, I just had to write this because it's just frustation - next time there will be something AMV-related)
  • when you hit the "b" button what hand do you use? 2008-03-08 08:10:10 I use my right hand to hit the B-button, only because I need to turn around my NES-controller if I want to use my left hand for the B-button!

(got the question from Katie's journal and have no idea where she got that from)
  • Last day of the VCA! 2008-02-24 01:37:54 People, if you didn't cast your vote for the VCA yet, then do so! It's the last day, so vote on which AMV *ahemAMVTechniqueBeatahem* you think is worth it *ahemWorldisLivingahem*.

There's a pack for with all the finalist's AMVs (Except for the MEP and best editor/rookie you may figure out for yourself) your convenience, so download that and go watch it all day!

In case you're wondering, I somehow made it into the finals with AMV Technique Beat (best parody, best comedy and most original) and The World is Living (best trailer). I probably won't win anything, because of all the AMVs I have to go against to, so I safely can say I rather trade all my places in the finals with Colorful Memories somewhere in the finals - too bad that didn't go anywhere, because I really like that one!
