At first I classified this video as a loli-yuri romp through Azumanga Diaoh... Then I realized how that made me sound and began to cry. Honestly, that's what it is. I had originally planned to make this a love triangle video with Sakaki going after Chiyo while Kaorin was chasing after Sakaki. While both lusts are there, I preferred to go with the less obvious one.

As far as category is concerned, I'd say this is a romantic comedy in the most literal sense of the words. I'm scratching my head as to what categories I choose to enter it in from con to con. Romance fits very well by the sheer sense of the word, but I think (given an audience's overwhelming preference of comedy) it's almost cheating... Also, whenever romance is grouped with drama, this video fails to meet that connection.

What it took - Everyone's respect for me as an individual...

Premiere Pro 1.5 - the vast majority of the video.
After Effects 5.0 - a sequence less than 20 seconds; you'll know it when you see it..
Photoshop - removing lip flap, doctoring images, making masks, Hillarious

Where it went (and how it did)

I do Yuri premiered at Llamacon, a first year convention in western MA, in late February of 2006. Since then, I decided to send it on a U.S. tour in hopes of spreading the love.

    What they've said:

"You know, you're going to hell for that" - dokool

    "I do ♥ this video" - FraChan

    What else can I say?

I had a lot of fun making this. More than that, it allowed me to branch off in other directions. I used better source, more planning, and more effects than in the past - got introduced to new software with exciting new potential, and explored various avenues with Premiere that I had never fooled with before. Unlike in the past, finishing this video has left me with the desire to continue, not to stop and take a break for a while.

This is the bit where I ask for Ops... Although I think it's all up to you. I think this work is far above what I've done before, but I'm not dumb enough to think it's perfect in any way. I've already been told I need to fix up the lip-synch a bit (by none other than the man who wrote the guide to lip-synch, Zarxrax), and I'm open to any technical complaints / issues / concerns (or how ever you want to classify your criticism) that you can give me.

Oh, yea... Thanks. Just for watching, thanks.
