  • Comments: This is my 2nd Project, which was first dubbed as the "Mahoroba Project 2nd" when I was first coming up for an idea for my 2nd video project. Again, this AMV deals with Mahoromatic, which I have stated in the past as being one of my all time favorite shows. That being said, I wanted to make another video with Mahoromatic being my video source once again. The result, this video of course!

    Statistics:
Video was created with a PC:

AMD Athlon XP 2800+ Running at 2.09 GHz
    768 MB DDR RAM
    Windows XP Service Pack 2
Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 Educational Version
    Adobe After Effects 6.5 Professional
Music was converted from a 320 kbps MP3 to 44100 WAV from the from the "Sore ga ai deshou" Single by Mikuni Shimokawa for Full Metal Panic Fumoffu.
Video was ripped from Licensed DVDs of Mahoromatic, Mahoromatic ~motto utsukushii mono~, Mahoromatic Summer Special.

    Concept:
This is somewhat of another tribute to Mahoro, where I used the lyrics represented in the song to tell my story in my clips. Unlike my other video, this did have lyrics, so it was a bit easier to find synch effects with the words, rather than just the music and beat. This is basically a story of the love between Mahoro and Suguru which is unrealized until far into the series, when Mahoro knows what she must do to keep her Suguru safe. Fortunately, that scene isn't in this video, which makes it a much more happier than my last video. Again, I have to profess my personal love to Mahoro, which has done nothing but mature over the last year. Instead of using all of Mahoro's identities in this video, I focused on her maid side, using no clips of her in Combat Android form, since the maid side of her is what appeals to me the most. Some people may see that as being shallow, but I felt the music best suited that side of her.

    Time:
With the experience I've had with learning new techniques in Premiere and After Effects, this video had a lot more edits in it, and didn't take as much time as it would had if I was working on it a year ago. I already had my clips ripped and stored on a hard drive, so I didn't need to rewatch it in that sense. All I needed to do was scan through them in VirtualDub and find what I needed for my clips, which did take some time, but wasn't very long. Since the song was longer and had more transitions than my last song, this video natuarally took longer to make. I don't know the exactly number of hours, but I do believe I spend well over 10 hours a day on it over a 9 day period, that includes the number of times I tried to encode it and failed because I had forgotten to use a frameserver.

    Music:
If one didn't know before, I used the full OP theme to Full Metal Panic Fumoffu for my music, so it is a familiar song, rather than my last project. I know people usually don't like to see videos done to a different series song, but I felt that this song had enough power and identity behind it to be than just the OP to FMP:FMF, which not all songs can do I believe. This song is, of course, in Japanese, so I went off the meaning of the lyrics to choose my clips and edit them together. So, if one didn't know the song's lyrics was less likely to understand what was going on in my video, sadly to say. I did try my best to make the meaning easy to grasp in my clips though.

    Video:
When I talk about video, I'm talking about the selection of clips I had placed into my video. I felt I should break down each segment here and discuss what is going on in it so I can ensure my viewers have a better idea of what I was trying to convey with this project.

(This section will be continued until I can finish the write-up since it is taking longer than I had first expected)
