• Comments: I started this AMV back in February 06, soon after I separated from the Marine Corps, and worked on it until I finished a “rough draft” of sorts. My mom ended up getting very sick, after moving into a new appartment, and so I ended up spending most of my time helping her and fixing up the house, and put my AMV on hold for a bit. My mom’s lung disease ended up getting far too advanced and it ended up taking her life on the 27th of March 06. I only just recently was able to hop back on my computer to finish this video.
  
  I had some hiccups along the way too. I’ve never worked with video noise (static stuff when your TV isn’t on a channel) but I liked the way it looked. So I made my AMV with a great deal of video noise and thought it turned out well. Well, once I tried to compress it, so that it would be an expectable size for upload on the org, I learned the hard way that video noise looks really bad when compressed. I don’t think I need to mention how crappy the feeling was. I ended up taking out the noise and changed my styling. I think it actually turned out better.
  
  Vermilion Pt. 2 is a rarity among Slipknot songs, as it has a much softer and more mature sound than what I had come to expect from them. The two parts to Vermilion have a feel that borders on loneliness, insanity and tragedy, and if the two parts of the song are actually one in the same, then to me it almost sounds like the lyric of someone suffering from schizophrenia.
  
  (possible spoilers) While watching RahXephon one day, I noticed how much Vermilion Pt. 2 related to RahXephon’s main character, Kamina Ayato (not quite a skitso, but at times, he is definitely a spaz) and how he was always in search of the elusive and enigmatic Mishima Reika. Not knowing that the Reika that kept haunting him and sometimes helping him during the duration of the TV series was not actually the real girl he knew from before the first mu war.
  
  His hobby, which happened to be painting, was used creating images from memories or dreams of Reika. Ayato was always trying to recreate her through his art. The title of the video, "The Unrequited Dream" comes directly from the lyrics, and speaks of what Mishima Reika is to him; a girl he loved and lost a long time ago who comes back in ways that makes him wonder if she is indeed real, or just a dream.
  
  Please enjoy the video. If you have any constructive criticism, please give it, long or short, as I am trying to improve my style. Oh, and I apologize for the size of the video. I’m a quality freak, and though, my video isn’t the best of quality, it is my best shot.
