  • Comments: NO HATE PLEASE! Shin Hatsubai video #56 goes back onto forbidden ground, but I PROMISE for the last time. Now that this is out of the way, there are no more Linkin Park songs that I don't deeply despise. I spent about five hours doing the intro for this, which is about 3 hours more than I spent doing the editing for the final video. This video is in the vein of earlier works like #46 and #47; really nifty, but so bizarre that you're almost scared of how the idea came about. Digital effects here include footage slowdowns, one instance of subtitling, and a hand-sequenced animation in the intro. The audio splicing is my own; LP released this album long before Kogepan was animated.

Kogepan is a deliberately underdrawn anime (it looks in places as if cels were done in crayon) that aired sometime in the recent past on Japanese TV (thus the little ANI-MAX watermark in the lower right corner). Episodes are about four minutes long, OP to ED, and present different events in the life of a piece of burned bread, as the title would indicate. If Mahoujin Guru Guru is a 'Shroom Anime, and if Azumanga Daioh illustrates in places When Animators Smoke Weed, Kogepan is most definitely a Crack Anime.

This video also includes, in the intro, samples from:
    Dragonball
    Serial Experiments: Lain
    Neon Genesis Evangelion
    Here Is Greenwood
"In The End" by Linkin Park
"Suicide Nation" by At The Gates
    "American Money" by Seatbelts
and artwork graciously lent by Tim Park (aka doki doki).

Shin Hats Self Grade: A. Yes, it's short, and no, there didn't REALLY need to be another Linkin Park vid, but this song is the least overfished of the lot, and flows pretty well with Kogepan.
Stats: #clips: 102. avg. length: 1.54 sec. total time: 23 hours.
