  • Comments: My latest drama work. I decided to revisit some of the themes I used back in my Berserk video and work with a new show. In Carpe diem I decided to go with the theme of how promising the life of Brandon Heat was and how his beliefs eventually caused the conflict between him and Harry. I think the song contributes very well to his feelings regarding his own personality and how he relaets to Harry.

The second aspect of the video comes from the melody. Listening to teh song I felt that the melody was very represntitive of thinking back and remembering one's life and how it shaped who one is in the present. Thus for much of the melody I felt that it would fit to act as if the viewer relives Brandon's past from his perspective and I feel that the melody carries the emotion of such quite well.

You might notice that I use next to zero footage of the Beyond the Grave arc. I felt that the action heavy arc posed a problem to the video for a few reasons. One of which was the color scheme, the series has a tone switch to blacks and reds instead of the white and grey of the first half of the show and visually this contrast was problematic. Secondly I felt that the orgmen hurt the dramatic aspect of the show as I was trying to focus on the emotion aspects of Brandon and his relationship with Harry. This is also why very few characters show up in the video outside of Brandon, Harry and Maria.

I've always had a great enjoyment making drama videos and I hope you like this one as much as I enjoyed making it.
