The version uploaded on Local requires FFDshow and Haali's Media Splitter OR the CCCP (recommended) The Direct version however is xvid and will probably play on everyone's PCs

You can choose to install these independently, but it is recommended you install the CCCP

The CCCP is a basically FFDshow, a MP4, MKV and OGM splitter with a softsub renderer, all configured for you so you can just whizz through the install and get playing back right away. Think of it as the AMVapp of the playback world.

Alternatively you can use VLC to play the local [h264] version.

Okay so. Here’s the third and final installment in the Technique Beat series [I think].

    Bleach Technique Beat.

BTB started with this wallpaper: Jam Minor Details I made this one day a year ago when I was bored. So I figured that it’d be piss cool if I did something similar, but with motion. And so a year after NTB and fuckloads of hours later BTB was spawned.

I’ll be straight with you. All the Techbeats thus far have been an excuse for a random action vid set to a song I love, or just me screwing around/having fun in After Effects. And this vid is no exception. I have an affinity for motion graphics. It’ll most likely be my profession when I graduate. So if you’re looking for a vid with some deep plot… you’ve come to the wrong place.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here’s a rundown of the vid:

Intro [chitchat bs]: If this makes absolutely no sense I suggest you watch Nessephanie’s
rendition of MoreDotsBTBStyle . Also thanks to Fall_Child42 for writing the intro script. ps – if you can understand even a small amount of Japanese you’ll be like ‘wtf mate’

Character Introduction: I chose my seven favorite characters. I would’ve included Zaraki but time didn’t allow for it. The intro was built from scratch all excepting the rotoscoped characters of course. The intro is one of [if not my most] favorite parts of the whole video.

Ishida: I began the project with Ishida. So the deadline for AWA was still far ahead. He was the orientation of the vid. I redid numerous sections with him until I got the right feel for the video. On the flipside, his part was THE MOST FRUSTRATING thing I have ever edited to this point. Mainly due to After Effects throwing me the most random fucking errors I have ever seen. I gave up midway with him and went directly to Ichigo vs. Byakuya. After I finished I vs. B, I came back and finished this section.

Renji: I wish I could’ve spent more time on his section, as Renji is may favourite character in the anime. I did this section a week or two before the deadline and it was rushed. It shows :(

Hitsugaya: Also one of the more rushed section, but I like the way it came out.

Soi Fong vs. Yoruichi: Also one of my favs in the vid. This section in the song was awesome to work with. It worked out perfectly. I edited the hard beats with great scenes so that it just flows awesomely.

Ichigo vs. Byakuya: Obviously the main fight in the video. 70% of my time in effort went into this section. And I it shows [at least I hope it does]. I re-edited it so may times until I was satisfied. And in the end it came out perfectly. I tried to make the editing more intense as the song got more intense. I added some shake and noise effects, overlaid it with six different layers and added tons of colour effects. Basically as it gets more intense, you’re lucky if you see any Bleach at all. Personally, I can’t get enough of 03:17 – 03:31.

The outro is a recap of all the characters and their techniques. a.k.a. Text Flood. Something I did back in KTB when I didn’t have anymore scenes to work with. It serves more of a parody than anything else.

Fun stuff: This video doesn’t take itself too seriously, I added tons of easter eggs, some of them pretty easy to spot, others not so much. For one thing it ups the review value a lot >_>

    On a technical side:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Programs I used:

Adobe After Effects 7 – Effects and shit, yo.
Adobe Premiere Pro – Basic editing.

And speaking of the two programs, take a look at the two versions of BTB. One being Effectsless, which can be found BTB FXless . And the other obviously the vid uploaded to the org. Here you can see the major overhaul it got in AE.

Here’s something amusing: BTB Syncher Thinger
    – I do this with all my videos. It’s easier for me to sync the song first and then go back and overlay the required scenes wherever and whatnot.

    Some Serious Business Stuff:

Yes this video looks like ass on purpose. I added shitloads of noise effects to make it look grungy. If you don’t like the dots, I suggest you hit it like you mean it.

    That is all.

    Special Thanks goes out to:

    Requiett
    – Thanks for giving me this awesome song to work with.
    Metro
    – Thanks for inspiring me and helping me out where I was stuck.
    Ileia
    – For actually making BTB.
    Niotex
    – Dankie dat jy my gehelp het en so baie vir my gedoen het, appreciate it poesloads.
    Khameleon808
    – Thanks for hooking me up with some crazy shit. Without you this vid would’ve looked pretty bland.
And a MOERSE thanks to JCD for helping me with the encode :O

I think that's all. For now.

Cheers and I hope I can enjoy Meatspin for all eternity.
