  • Comments: Words fail to describe how insanely excited I am about the new run of Hajime no Ippo. Been waiting and hoping and waiting for years now. Of course I read the manga, and still do, but there are so many good fights that I've always wanted to see...and now I can.

So here's the first of many AMVs I make using footage from "New Challenger". I tried to follow the pace and tone of this fight, especially emphasizing how badly Miyata got beaten on, and how quickly he turned it all around and won. Then of course, as with my other Ippo videos (and the others to come), I had to do my WWTD segment...it's one of my favorite parts of making Ippo videos in the first place. Best part is, all those clips are legit...no transplating video or audio, just Takamura at his very best. SO DON'T FORGET TO WATCH TIL THE VERY END, AND DON'T FORGET TO LEAVE ME SOME FEEDBACK (PLEASE!!).

The other thing I learned from this project is that it's incredibly hard to make a video when you're not "in the mood" for it. I don't just mean an issue of motivation, I'm talking about your mental/emotional state...because it definitely alters the type/quality of a given AMV. Right now, I'm at a point where I want to make emotional videos like "The Price of Love", "Leave Me", and "Mark the Grave"...check them out if you haven't. But I wanted to be the first out with a New Challenger AMV, so I went with that instead...I just didn't anticipate how hard it would be to work through the stylistic contrast between this AMV and the ones I feel more aligned with at the moment. A valuable lesson. Enjoy the vid.

No lyrics to pay attention to this time, just people getting punched in the head.
