Where to start on this one.... when dokool and I started planning things out for the AMV panel at Anime Boston, it was early on decided that we wanted to do something involving Linkinball Z videos. We went through many iterations of what we might do, but the latter half of this video was the end result.
It was thrown together over a few days before the convention as an intro to the panel and a demonstration of some of what not to do and what you might do in the form of a rather bad and a generally well-rated video. For the bad, I set about to make as classicly horrid LinkinBall Z video as possible, as to not have to actually use somebody's LBZ video that they might actually have cared about. Dan managed to grab a random episode off p2p that, to my delight, had the Cartoon Network logo prominently in the corner of the video. What else could I use for audio source but "In the End". I think I succeeded in sufficiently massacring the video. :p The intro to that and its appropriate treatment were done using a Cowboy Bebop segment with custom subtitles. At the end of it, we led straight into AD's Shamless Rock Video. I left that off this upload, as it didn't seem approriate for me to be putting it up.
The first part of the video was literally done over the day and a half preceeding the panel on Saturday afternoon when I had free time at the con. Anyone familiar with my videos should recognize both the music and the effects used. It was what I had available, and I knew how to do on short order. The beginning build-up uses frames from a number of the better AMVs I had sitting on the laptop's hard drive when I made the video. My apologies if any of the editors object to their use. If you strenuously object to their presence in this, I will do what I can to get this version replaced with one with the frame or two removed.
Finally, thanks to my co-panelists at the con- I think the panel went quite well, and it wouldn't have gone nearly as well without all of you there and a part of it.
Note: Though this is listed under Anime Boston 2003, it did not (as will probably be evident when watching it) compete in the contest, but it was a part of the con.
Since I have a bit of bandwidth to spare, I'm temporarily enabling a direct link to this video.
