  • Comments: First trailer I've ever done, I don't think I did too bad on it. Somebody suggested the idea of mixing Code Geass with Lord of the Rings and I went with it as I had an image pop into my head as soon as I re-listened to the trailer for the Two Towers.

It was my usual on again, off again working schedule. I had the main bulk of it finished and became busy with life. One year later I decided to finish it correctly and completely, and this time was able to get the correct clips I needed to finish it(curse you Clovis!) and then was pushed to enter it into some sort of contest.

The ironic thing is I NEVER SAW THE LOTR TRAILERS until AFTER I finished the amv. Seriously! The audio is also not from one trailer, but from two. The first part comes from the teaser trailer:

and the end of my audio comes from here:

but edited and spliced together, reason being I just couldn't get some of the dialogue to fit in the flow/story of the amv correctly. Apparently some of my scenes in the amv sort of imitated the trailer...which I didn't know before as like I said, I never saw the trailer until after I finished. Weiirrd...but cool!

Anyway upon hearing the dialogue I instantly thought of Cornelia to use as voices were somewhat regal and I thought it would fit well. That and the ending with that loud kaboom, was a happy, but well fit accident. I originally thought of using Charles and Lelouch as the Dark Lord Sauron and Saruman respectively, but wasn't quite happy with that idea, as I wanted Lelouch to be seen as one of the good guys, not a villian. Eventually I got some footage of Schneizel though it was a pain in the rear and as is I'm still wishing I had more/better video of him. Oh well...

I also had to determine who was going to be Gandalf, settled on Jeremiah fairly quickly, though I wanted Todoh originally, but had more luck with Jemimah clips so I went that route instead. I also wasn't sure who was talking sometimes(the whole I never saw the trailer thing) but for the most part Aragorn is Suzaku, though Lelouch and Suzku alternate, which can a play off of the fact that they both wore the Zero costume, but mostly because the clips I had of Lelouch fit better in most of the non-talking parts, and the clips I had of Suzaku fit better in the talking parts.

Éowyn is Kallen at first because it fit better, but the second audio part sounded just way too much like C.C. and the clip I had I like more so I put her in there instead, not realizing it was still Éowyn speaking.

Lastly Elrod was pretty simple, as Guilford physically looked the most like Elrod to me, so that was simple. I say lastly because the rest of it was me trying to find good suitable clips to use and not knowing who was talking sometimes. So it might not be horribly accurate to LOTR, but it is accurate to Geass.

Anywho it's sort of my baby and I'm really proud of how it turned out, though I'll forever nitpick over it...XD
