• Comments: KenIchi The Mightiest Disciple is what you get when you turn Mr. Miyagi into 6 masters of martial arts and give her a very cute granddaughter. It is VERY awesome. This video is a nice little tribute to Kenichi Shirahama, using primarily the first half of the series (up to and including the epic fight on the bus with Hermit/Tanimoto). You'll note that for the most part, when Kenichi is outside the dojo, he kicks ass with the best of 'em. However, when he's inside the dojo, he's still learning and training. The manga is always ready to remind the reader of that: "He is the strongest... But he is only a disciple." This is what I was aiming for in this video.
  
  I am very surprised I haven't seen someone else set this anime to "You're the Best" considering the anime's presence and the cheesy-but-beloved feel of that song from the 1980's.
  
  I'm glad to see this video did well in some small contests, and I am happy with that. However, the greatest moment for this video was the fact that I won an award for it at AWA's AMV Expo contest for "Best Fight"... as many as 1500 people watched this video in Main Events during the awards ceremony. The award took me completely by surprise. It was exciting and thrilling for me to see this played to so many people at once.
  
  I really enjoyed KenIchi and watching the anime all over again while making this. Enjoy.
