• Comments: This is SH120, in all likelihood the last Shin Hatsubai video. It is a decent but ultimately unexceptional package built around some solid riffs in what is a fairly conventional use of brutal death metal. As with life, careers seldom end the way you'd like them to, or at a time that's not filled with regret and backward-looking angst.
  
  Shin Hats self-grade: B. It's short and conventional, but while it mostly follows the narrative arc of the source, it's neither complete nor really a proper subset. The anime is likely too fucking kvlt for most people to get this, but that's never been the point of SH videos from the start, so hey ho.

  About the music:
  Fewer Dysentery members are in Parasitic than were when SH112 was released, but the notes there largely apply here. Dysentery's a lot more groove- and chug-focused than Parasitic's blastier style, which is most of the reason that the triggers here are fewer and more subdued than on that video. Contrary to what might be expected from the title, this is actually the first track off Internal Devastation, not the closer; in death metal, things begin with the end.
  
  About the anime:
  Denpa teki na Kanojo is substantially more brutal and fucked-up than conveyed in this presentation. This video is all cut from the first OVA, and almost completely from the first two-thirds of that. I wanted to bring in more from the last third, after the turn, but ran out of music. (Longer songs would have meant doing at least some lyric synch, with the knock-on consequence of either artificially restricting what I was doing, or forcing a multi-hour dig-through of my Katalepsy, Parasitic, Insidious Decrepancy, Macerated, and/or Cephalotripsy records in order to find something with optimally-appropriate lyrics.) Hence no spoilers, but for the interested, "typical goregrind, but in reverse".
  
  
  Other:
  I was going to do an outro with either "In Corolla" by The Mountain Goats or "Vertical Human Splicing" by Parasitic Extirpation, but the first was far too self-indulgent ("the day I turned my back on all you people" -- meaningless outside of the .org) and the second would have required too much work scanning through the song for the purest and least encumbered blastbeat section. So I gave up and did a silent outro a la SH070.
