• Comments: First, this is my favorite video to date, and I think it's my best. However, most people will see this as random action, so don't expect to understand what I see in this video. For those who know me, I don't mind explaining, though. ^_~
  
  For this I was mostly doing a lyric sync, playing with the song and the idea of Earth as the resting place of fallen angels, and cast out men. Since I have quite a few anime titles that involve 'angels,' I used them to show the 'perfection' - while also showing what a contradiction they are. At least in this video (and most anime), the 'angels' are worse than the humans when it comes to evil, violence and sin. So I tried to show the conflict between their good (pretty) sides and their darker nature. And since this song has a number of fast sections without lyrics, I filled them with certain scenes from the different anime titles I used - if you notice they aren't random, I used scenes of sacrifice, betrayal (comrades fighting), pure blood lust (which is what makes it a 'brutal planet'), and general pain. I think the overall effect is that the video *does* show a 'brutal planet,' but one in which the 'angels' are just as bad as the men.
  
  Editing issues: This was a bugger. The ripping alone took me longer than I care to admit, and I spent nearly 8 hrs just planning out the scenes and ordering the clips I wanted to use. I really need to get more anime. >.< The actual sync, which is important to get the rush effect, and for the quick pace of the music, was nasty to say the least. I had to save after every sequence, often restarting in order to playback and edit the parts - 15 minutes for 2 seconds of footage is a little much for me. Also, Windows Movie Maker cannot (for me) produce a video longer than 35 seconds if it uses as many clips as I used, so I couldn't produce it. I *could* have used an avi, but the timing is screwed since it doesn't alternate the frame speed to fit the music, giving a nasty audio. Timing was a major issue here, so I cut the timline in sections (35secs each) and produced them as high quality NTSC wmv files - which I then imported into Windows Movie Maker 1.0 - since it's avi production doesn't have the problems the 2.0 version does. The timing was intact - so I then produced it to avi, and converte to mpg. The quality, happily enough, isn't bad considering the number of compressions I went through to make this video. And the sync was kept surprisingly well.
  
  The only real regret I have with this video is that people are going to see it as random violence, and there was nothing random about the clips I used. Each one was chosen specifically to give a feeling and add to the overall story. Also, there aren't any credits for this video since I couldn't bring those over from wmm 2.0 into wmm 1.0 - I had to leave them out.
  
  And - small note - there is *one* scene in here that could be seen as yaoi - it lasts for .5 seconds at most and shows nothing but angst, so I don't see that being a problem for those who don't like yaoi. Though most of my anime titles are yaoi in nature, I didn't use any footage that would make people squeamish, and romance is definitely *not* a major part of this vid, so it shouldn't be a problem.
  
  SPOILERS:: Anyone who doesn't like spoilers shouldn't watch this, most of the dramatic scenes come at the end of an anime series, so you might see something you don't want to know about yet.
