  This was my entry at Anime Crossroads 2012 and Akross 2012. Thank you for everyone who watched and voted for it :)
  
  Intro
  
  I've had this idea in my mind for a while now. I don't even remember which one came first. Did I want to edit with the song or did I want to edit with Chihayafuru? In any case the two made an excellent match in my imagination and I just started from there. When I started editing I didn't have any cons in mind but as I started putting more and more effort into it, and because Akross wasn't too far away and I had promised I'd edit something for a con my friend was organizing, I decided to send my little creation out there and participate.
  
  The Story
  
  This one is a full hearted character profile (in spite of not having entered in that category at Akross...) The story is centered on the protagonist of the anime, Chihaya, her pursuit to become to best karuta player in Japan and the people she's being supported by. The anime plays with the thematics of facing challenges and overcoming oneself in quite a dramatic manner and I wanted to convey all of this in my video. My simple idea here was to depict Chihaya's devotion towards karuta and her loyalty to the people she's close to even though she might get hurt in the process (hence the title).
  
  Editing
  
  This whole video was one big camera movement experiment for me. It was fun to play with them. Even if it made some people nauseous :3
