  Well, I started this project after seeing Wreck It Ralph with my boyfriend, and the credits song was still stuck in my head even after I went home. I wanted to edit with it, and found the shiny cuteness of Denpa Onna to fit well. Now that it's finished, I plan to try and tour it around some cons this year.
  
  It's basically a profile of the two main characters, centralizing around the theme of a bicycle. It represents something in their relationship and helps unify them as they spend time together. I wanted not exactly a narrative, but a series of split vignettes that all work towards a feeling. I've always been more for the abstract anyway, since telling a story from start to finish is incredibly hard for me. I attempted to establish a passing of time by spreading days and nights across the video equally, speeding up at the end, with some sunsets/sunrises in between. Also, I tried to avoid the more "overused" scenes by watching similar AMVs and determining which sequences were always popping up. I didn't want this video to be hackneyed. If you can't already tell, I also made this a very raw video. Masking, while effective and so useful, really bums me out x'D--therefore, I avoided it as much as possible.
  
  For this project, I wanted to try and mimic the styles of two of my editor-heroes: AimoAio (http://www.youtube.com/user/AimoAioAMV) and Crossfade (http://www.youtube.com/user/Cross00fade). Specifically, the aspects of these two videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mI1sbVTHcgw (Enchanted) and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRm1FDIfYTQ (Spanish Wolf). Aimo's scene selection and pacing, as well as Crossfade's timing, are things that I want to improve in myself. Also, the moods of both videos are well constructed and quite present all the way through; you can FEEL the emotions when you watch them. They also capture the charm of both anime, which can be hard to do when creating an original work. Both videos are truly wonderful, simple, lovable, and memorable, and they hold special places in my heart :). Anyway, Aimo and Crossfade are two of the many editors that inspire me, so I thought about them often when working on this.
  
  Jazzy (http://www.youtube.com/user/jazzsvids) also encouraged me to try new things, including adjusting the lights of clips. I might have gone overboard (like I always do when I try something I've never done, haha!) but I really liked them and thought they added flare to the simple and traditional cross-fade transition. So a special kudos to Jazzy on that one~!
  
  And of course a thanks to all my beta testers, collectively: RAWdangers, WarlikeCygnet, JazzVids. They were all very gentle with feedback and didn't tear apart my confidence :D.
  
  I still have a lot to learn, but I enjoyed editing this (even though scene selection made me want to fling myself into a hole more than one time). As you can see from this long write up, I put a lot of thought into it, and I hope that shows~.. Maybe one or two of you out there gets something from it, and a happy New Year to all of you!
