    Yippieh! Finally back at Aninite after skipping the contest in 2011 and 2012.
    (For the category - I'm not really sure if it's "horror" - so please don't get mad with me, if it isn't creepy enough.)

    For spoilers and my own reasoning:

    The hints and murderers I give away in the AMV are based on my thoughts after Episode 4 and since I’m not really finished with the novel yet, I do not know about how the end really will be. So please do not take the hints to serious!
    I also had that idea about Battler/Beato at some point - that basically the whole setup could be Battler sitting in this (possibly imaginary) tearoom all alone, torturing himself, trying to recall the events in the right way, manifesting Beato for the parts he disavows eventually. Can't point it out in detail (the "everyone dies" red truth is disturbing here) but I got a hunch like that 'cause something about the narration style and episodes repeating those two days over and over again reminded me about a person sorting things out by thinking them trough several times covering different possibilities. That's also why I market it as a character profile (for Battler).

    About Umineko and the AMV:

    I started to play Umineko at the beginning of last year and really loved it (after getting used to it). I truly wanted to make an AMV using the Anime ever since but had no idea at all because the gameplay is focused rather on discussion and thinking and all the action based stuff is only added to confuse the player.
    The more I thought about the story, the more it came to me how interesting that kind of storytelling was and how sneaky the creator brought up the hints you need for solving stuff. I then came up with an idea of focusing on the gameplay and bring up the red and blue truth stuff in the AMV, as well as Ryukishis sneaky way of bringing up hints.
    The thing with the split-screen wasn’t planned from the beginning. I have a habit of making storyboards for AMVs and I realized very soon that I couldn’t bring up that dynamic style of discussion Battler and Beato are usually exercising (especially with the red and blue truth involved) without splitting up the screen. So I tried and thought that it looked quite good. Since Ryukishi stuffs so much (useless) information into the scenes, it was on purpose that there is a little information-overdo in the AMV, but I hope I did not overdo it.

    About Umineko and the song:

    Yippieh! A German song again. It really pains me that this one is in German since it is fitting the situation between Battler and Beato so damn well that you should be able to enjoy the lyrics too. ):
    To tell in short: The song is about two children playing „hide and seek“. The lyrics are in fact explaining the feelings of hiding, the fear of being found and the joy of hunting down the other in a very adult matter. In German language the sentence „Eckstein, Eckstein, alles muss versteckt sein“ that occurs quite often is the rime that is used at the end of counting to a certain number to make clear that people have to stay hidden by now. Also counting to ten occurs in the song which additionally matches perfectly our 10 twilights of the epitaph. :D (At the contest I was asked why I was counting dead bodies - *lol* for that one.) „Augen auf, ich komme“ basically just means „look out, I’m coming“ – yet an other phrase to make the others aware of that they have to stay hidden and pressure them.
