  • Comments: This was me just editing to complement the song. I didn't create my own mini-movie with a story or plot, rather I used scenes to represent the concept of the music. It's instrumental music, so its concept is a lot more open to interpretation; I interpreted it as serious action, and some parts representing strong emotions like fear, or something sentimental (though I don't think the AMV is overall "sentimental" enough to be in the category). So yeah, my goal was to just cut scenes together that are intact with the mood and atmosphere of the song, while keeping a sense of flow in the actual editing.

But you'll notice there are four main factors that appear at the start, within the middle and then end the AMV. Those were the 4 main scenes I wanted to use to represent the song--the other scenes in the middle were just filler but I made sure to keep them in the "serious action"/"strong emotion" categories, just for consistency.

I made this for Akross, and honestly, I knew it wouldn't do well with the viewers or judges. It appears they can only appreciate motion graphics and animes with little girls. I'm not saying this is a very great "AMV", but in terms of actual editing (scene cutting and scene choice), this is really, really good.

Oh and some might wonder why I left black bars at the top and bottom--it was for a cinematic effect. I used a lot of old animes here and I like the look of cinematic old anime.

And also, the song is pretty repetitive. I had no complaints about this during Akross, but yeah, I remixed the song to make it usable in an AMV--the original just wasn't adequate for me. But I don't have much experience with remixing or music in general, so yeah, this was the best I could do in terms of remixing the song.

As for the AMV being titled "Antithesis", well it was because the 4 main factors of this AMV are battles between two characters and--even though these specific characters may not be--opposing forces are typically shown as being of opposite natures, and "opposite" is basically what "antithesis" means. #ComplexShitYo
