When it comes to romantic Dragon Maid videos, a lot of them tend to focus on the main characters Kobayashi and Tohru. However, at the same time, there's another nice pairing in the series in Kanna and Saikawa. While it can get somewhat out of hand at times (those who cringe at episode 6 of the first should stay as far away as possible from the chapter in the Lucoa spin-off manga where the fallen god bring upon a zombie apocalypse for Halloween), it still has some cute moments, especially in the Kanna spin-off manga.

Choosing "There She Goes" as the song to focus on this pairing was done for two reasons. The obvious one is how the Sixpence None the Richer version has a "same sex couple" feel to it, which would be perfect for a song about a school girl having a crush on one of her classmates of the same gender. The other reason is a little more crazy, as some people assume "There She Goes" is about heroin, and Saikawa's interest in Kanna is clearly an obsession (with it getting more insane in the Kanna spin-off manga). In fact, the title of the video is itself a double meaning, reflecting both Saikawa's interest in Kanna and the urban legend of the song's drug-based meaning.

I wanted to get an initial version of the video done before the 11th episode of Dragon Maid S aired, as, along with the Pro deadline, I was concerned that my feelings at the time about how the season was being handled (in particular, having the season's stopping point be right before a story arc that I felt could have easily been covered in the season if a few unnecessary bits were cut and it had 13 episodes instead of 12) would negatively affect my editing for this video. During the judging portion of the Pro contest, I took into consideration the comments of the video having too many static scenes and added a few more "Ken Burns effect" touches to the final version of video (as well as improved the effect on scenes that already had it initially). I also fixed one scene that was criticized for an unnecessary lip-sync bit. While I am somewhat cautious about overdoing this effect, I'm pleased with the number of improvements I added to final version.
