While it initially looked like my favorite was going to be a harem title, what truly won me (and the club) over was a show called Azumanga Daioh. Between an OP sequence that had some club member wonder if Gainax was making this, a ten-year-old high school student and her cooking song (with me trying to keep it in mind for the rest of the meeting), and the various cats appearing in the show (be it the one that likes to bite Sakaki or the being that is Chiyo's dad), I just knew that I had do more research on this show once I got home from the meeting.

Being a huge Azumanga fan when it came out, I knew that I had to a video set to it, and I also knew the perfect song to use for it. Besides me discovering the craziness of "Yatta" a few months before Azumanga (altough to be honest, I could have learned about Azumanga earlier at the same place where I discovered "Yatta": Animazement 2002, a con that had a major cultural impact on me), when reading the translated lyrics to the song, I realized that it actually fits well with Azumanga Daioh.

While I'm well aware that the Azumanga/Yatta pairing has already been done before, I still wanted to do this video to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Azumanga anime, which was a huge influence in the types of shows that I would get into. Given how this would be my longest video to date (around four minutes in time), I began work on the video in December 2021 in hopes to have the video ready by the start of April to coincide with the date that the first episode aired. However, between finding clips that would fit the lyrics of the song, the amount of work done in terms of effects (masking, lip sync, and hiding lip flaps), and the fact that I do have other things outside of making the video, I wound up missing my planned deadline by around a month.
