I slowly became a fan of the TV series Space:1999 while watching both seasons on IMDB TV (now Freevee). I wanted to recreate the opening with an anime, and after some tests, I thought of Heat Guy J, mostly because of the exploding napalm bridge scene in that show looking much like the nuclear explosion on the Moon in Space:1999. Using that and scenes of the first episode of the anime, I was able to find the right kind of font to recreate a pretty accurate OP parody of the original.
