  • Comments: Yeah, this is similar to my 'Partners' vid, featuring mostly matches from the first tournament. I enter with Momo and Ryoma's first and only 'doubles' match since it's cute and they serve as an example of how *not* to play. ^_^; And then we have Taka and Fuji, the Golden Pair (Oishi and Eiji), and a bit of Ryoma's solo match. The song's a slow one, but I didn't want to speed up the footage, and I still say - this is the hardest anime I've worked with when it comes to timing, a tennis match can't be set up the way a battle is. But I like it.

    For those who don't know the anime, this vid features a nice collection of bishonen, so if you like pretty guys you should find this a fun watch. I don't think there's a single character in this anime (male) that isn't drawn nicely. And I mark this as action & dance because there isn't a genre for 'sports' and the way these matches are animated, they could fall into either.

    Note, there is *no* lyric sync in this video. I appologize to Japanese speakers who may find it an odd combination, but I love the song and it's very difficult to find music with a good pace for this anime.

    Editing/Format:
    I really ruined my source here. I borrowed the series long before I learned how to get rid of interlacing, and I didn't save them in hufyuv. And for some reason, I couldn't run any filters on my clips when I finally *did* convert them to hufyuv (from an older avi format). I managed to get rid of the interlacing after the video was produced, but the fuzz was just nasty. I couldn't get the filters to clean it up in Vdub, TMPGEnc was absolutely useless (no, I still don't understand the guide - wish they'd just explain settings and what they do instead of giving you odd files to load). I *did* manage to get an xvid version of the vid under 100mbs (still pretty big) that doesn't look too bad. I'd say it's about as clean as the wmv version was, and only 3mbs larger, so I'm going with it on this vid. Hopefully I'll figure out a way to salvage my clips before I try using this anime again.
