Comments:
I couldn't think what to call this vid - 'Philosophy of an Anime Fan' is the title I wanted, but it's too corny - and 'You know you've seen too much anime when...' is too long for a title. ^_^ This video covers my views of anime and the effect it has on people who watch too much of it. There are a lot of themes running in this aside from the literal lyric sync, but they should be self-explanatory. If not, just look at it as an action-comedy type vid and you'll be fine.
Theme:
For the curious, I'll explain a few things I had in mind for the video - possible spoilers, I guess. First, you have the antisocial anime fan who doesn't really relate to those who don't watch anime - the one who is alienated from his former friends because they 'just don't get it.' When he tries to share his obsession, his 'normal' friends find aspects of it bizzar (big eyes, crazy expressions). So he secludes himself with is obsession - "I just want to be left alone." Then you have the anime fans who interract with each other, the ones who fight over their favorite anime - "It's my way, go and get your own", defend their beloved characters no matter what insane things they may do - "I don't care about the things you do." A few other issues that pop up are the neglected 'real life' things that obsessed anime fans tend to neglect like homework - "forgot to put the letterage," and the 'extracurricular' activities - the character model collection, "illegal pictures on the net". And, of course, there are the ones who watch anime because they see themselves or their 'dream personalities' reflected on the screen - but I won't go into that. ^"^;;
Editing:
Windows Movie Maker 2.0, VirtualDub (editing, compression), Avisynth (editing), BeSweet (conversion), Showbiz (audio editing, conversion), Nandub (attaching audio). And the bitrate is rather high, but I had between 86 and 75 mbs for the mpg version of this - I saved some on space with the xvid version. I think it has to do with the varying sources used, but the wmv version was 39mbs and just as clean - I may stop using xvid in the future in favor of that. I know people don't like it, but the size difference is huge, the bitrate is small, and the quality is the same. >.<
This video requires the xvid codec. If you don't have this, you can get it directly from www.doom9.org under 'Downloads' - the 'Gordian Knot Codec Pack'. Or you can contact me (arigatoumina@hotmail.com) and I will set you up with it.
