Back when we (No-Brand Videos) first got started making videos, one of our friends who was not actively involved in our making videos brought up and idea he had for a video that he thought would be neat to see made with the hopes that we would be able to make it. While the concept was simple and the editing would not have been a problem at all, we were never able to squeeze in doing it before our academic obligations got the better of us.

Over the last year or so, a good deal of City Hunter has been released on DVD (though far from the entirety of it), and in watching through some of it I realized that I probably could get enough of it together to do this video. The timing worked out far better than I could have planned if I'd wanted to- not too long after deciding that I could actually pull it off, Tim (my friend who came up with the video) got engaged and asked me to be one of the groomsman at his wedding. I decided then that I would definitely make the video and give it to him on a disc in celebration of his getting married.

Unfortunately, as has been the case far too often these days, I had a hard time with getting the footage to be decent to edit and to watch. I can't count the number of times I've had IVTC simply not work on DVDs that it should, and how many titles I've run into with horrid blending. I think I probably spent more time on trying to get the footage to look passable as I did actually editing the footage. But, in the end, I am happy with how it turned out. It could have been better- having all of the CH movies/OAVs would have been great, but what I had access to worked fairly well, I believe. I really wish I could have had Tim's help in making the video, but it would have been rather hard to keep it a surprise for him if I was getting his help in making it. ;)

He definitely seemed to enjoy it when I showed it to him, so I'd definitely call the video a success.
