Unfortunately, when I demoed the song, he hated it and would not let me borrow the source. I gave up (eventually producing 'homebound' [the Boondock Saints video issued on the AniBo '03 CD] in its stead), but kept the idea around, because it was a cool song.

Then in October 2003, right before going out to plan Con Ja Nai X with the rest of staff, I finally got around to watching Early Reins, and was impressed enough to push the idea straight into the head of the to-do list. Unfortunately, I didn't get around to finishing it until the end of November, when it barely got out the door in time for the Ohayocon postmark deadline.

Effects in this one are pretty limited; just some speed modification and a couple horizontal flips. Amazingly, there are no spoilers, even though it's pretty much a straight retelling of the anime....missing several major plot events, all of the dialogue, and done in a twentieth of the time.

For about a second and a half I thought about doing a second video with this anime using Megadeth's "Train of Consequences", but then realized that I had too little source, the match wasn't exact, and the idea was just too frickin obvious to actually do.

Shin Hats Self-Grade: B-. A nice little video, nothing worldbreaking.
