  • Comments: It's been a long time in the making. This is the first idea I had for an AMV, and the first one I was able to create. I was inspired by the lyrics "Don't lay another finger on her", which is essentially what Ranma told Sanzenin about Akane that one episode. The rest of the AMV fell into place from there, since a series about a marital artist fits well with a song titled Kick Some Ass.

    The reason it took so long was (aside from my laziness), because I didn't have all the material i needed to complete all the scenes I wanted, so I converted some dubbed rms I had to fill in the blanks., which of course these were of hideous quality. By the time I had a complete version, my friend Iceman(dschlag007) purchased the TV series on DVD, so in the pursuit of video quality that wasn't total crap, I had to essentially redo the entire AMV with the rips. Lucky thing from that point though is I had the scene selection completely planned out. Unfortunately, I was still missing scenes I wanted from the OAVs, so I had to purchase those myself (and it took a good couple months for my local anime DVD retailer to order them in).

    But, it's done now and I'm quite satisfied with the results. I focused on the scene selection and tried not to add too many unnecessary transitions and other special effects. Although I may have gone a little overboard with lip-synching and scene speed manipulation (none of the scenes I wanted seemed to fit) I don't think I did too bad a job. It was my first time playing around with Adobe Premiere, and I didn't want to look like one of those guys who throw together useless scenes tied together by pointless special affects, and try to pass it off as an AMV. The ending credits were done in Windows Movie Maker.

    So I hope you enjoy my first ever AMV, and would appreciate any feedback and reviews(don't we all) you have to offer.
