„The masters of nothern tales” + “The lonesome traveler in the dusk”
Insomnium is a finish underground newcomerband, which got much feedback for their first album “In the Halls of Awaiting” for their unique stlye, which combines a gloomy atmoshpere with a scent of hope between the depressive and very intensive songstructures.
They rely on their feeling for the perfect balance between aggression and sadness, so that the mixture of these different elements creates a unforgotten live show. And also on CD their music does not lose any of its magic. Many tracks arent composed to tight and like to deviate in form of very long instumental parts. In case of “The Elder” its not this way, its one of the shorter tracks and because of this its screaming to be used for an amv, unfortuneatly it does not include a guitarsolo so it is acually not one of my personal favorites. But therefor the lyrics were very open minded (most tracks are more into very deep stuff like lost love, after death theories aso) and its in some way related to the happenings of Vampirehunter D (lyrics attached below). This was the basic idea of this video : I wanted to refelct certain trades of the movie with the song. In my opinion there are to much amvs which just show the marcus brothers splattering the zombiehords, so I just thought of a nice alternative, so I created “Timeless Ways”. Its focused on the journey of D and Meyer. I like the melancholic travelscences like D wandering into the dust or the scence where he walks in the desert. And Im a great fan of the beautieful backgrounds, so I put some of the best into the video and they fit very well to the slower accousticguitarparts off the song. I also worked some action sequences into the video something which brings some motion into the video when it comes to the faster parts, especially at the end of the vid. The video is based on a mixture of timing, textsyncs and few effects and I also did some lipsyncs.
The technical specs oh well my editor didnt like the encoded sources so a lot of video errors appeared which could be corrected such as scanlines, deinterlace errors and muddy blured appeareance so I wont up load it. I didnt encode the original source myself, so it was normal that some thing did look like they should. Then I bought the dvd an encoded it (DVDx into mpeg), and tada all the stupid errors were still there, because the import system didn´t recognize the changes.The deinterlace error could be corrcted viva Nandub interlace. But the rest remained unchanged so the work of nearly 4 months of blood sweat and tears was in vain. Damn that terriblely sucks ass. So maybe in the future when my know how increased and I´ll be able to get the visual quality onto an exeptable level I´ll upload it but that will take time.
