This video marked a low point for me in the realm of AMV contests. Not that it was a poorly made video, but in the reaction it got from the AX crowd. This is ment to be a fun action video, combining the song lyrics and anime in a way that I thought everyone would enjoy. It was not created to be a comedic video, but somehow got moved into the comedy category.
The contest is going, the action category finishes and I am disappointed that the video wasn't show. Then comedy starts, my video appears somewhere in the middle of the mix. I hear a few chuckles, some confused murmurs, then some boos. Nothing is more humbling that hearing an audience boo your work.
Lets just say I wasn't sure if I was going to create any more videos for the 1998 contest. :)
I'd welcome some feedback on this piece. I've heard mixed from my friends, some really liking it and others that could take or leave it. I honestly think that the poor reaction to it in the AX contest was due to it being in the wrong category.
Some people who thought my "This is the Life!" video belonged in the Comedy category, rather than Action might now understand why I chose Action. The reaction this video recieved is one of the reasons I shy away from making a comedy videos.
