  This is a somewhat experimental video: it is an action video created solely with scenes from the Berserk manga. I used many techniques to help achieve motion or a sense of motion, including pans & zooms, distortion effects, simple animation created using multiple layers, adding moving rain/blowing grit, etc. I did not however attempt to add any color; thus the entire remains grayscale, which I feel is appropriate given the overall theme and feel of both the video and the world in which the Berserk manga takes place.
  
  I also feel that this is my best video to date from an artistic view: I have always wanted to make a Berserk video set to Dark Tranquillity simply because they struck me as having such a similar mood to them – beautiful, complex, yet often brutal. Plus, the theme of the video fit so well with the music, the lyrics, and the manga: a dark, somewhat ironic take on the wonders around Gatts.
  
  The video is somewhat graphic, about the same level as the actual anime, so go elsewhere if blood, some gore, and light nudity offends you.

  Effects:
  Pan and zooms: I wrote a motion filter for Virtualdub that used the resize and rotate2 filters internally to create a much higher quality video than the motion option in Premiere. This filter can be downloaded here.
  Rain effects were done by creating a large rain pattern, and then panning over it to create the appropriate motion. Then the original scene would be split into layers for the foreground and back ground. Finally, various rain clips would be overlaid the layers.
  Fire and wave distortion effects were done using some custom programs I wrote when working on my Cloud Connected video.
  Most of the other effects were done by using several layers and creative transparency/blending/masking.
