  I like to create AMVs around a central theme, and this video is nothing different. The central themes of this video are Religion, Sexual Desire, and Identity. These themes are woven around several minuets, with are connected together by Lain herself.
  
  This is my heaviest special effects video to date (not that that really takes much). Most of the effects are pretty obvious and should stand out without me pointing them out. The only one that I wish to point out and you would never notice unless you compared the original footage with my video. This effect happens at 3:51. Here I wanted Lain’s sister to be looking at her own soul, but there wasn’t any such scene in the original footage, though there was a scene in which Lain sees it. I was able to mask out the spirit and place into the scene seamlessly, therefore creating my own scene. Nothing new for you technical wizards, but it was a breakthrough for me nonetheless. BTW it is supposed to be grainy at the end. ;)
  
  I have also gone back to using mixed media, just as I did in my video Angst. To this end, I have integrated the original Losing My Religion video and the Device footage that was included in the extras of Lain. I also attempted to have them interact to a certain extent with the Lain footage.
