Re: Fairy Tail
I think the best way to describe this series, is a combination of slayers and Onepeice. Its got Onepeice's story arcs style where they get into some serious one on one battles between the characters, and the whole fighting to protecting nakama thing, but also throws in Slayers love of destruction and leaving nothing but mayhem in their wake ;p
And yes in my opinion fairy tail does get better later on compared to the beginning (as is the case with most shows/series like this), but it is arc based, so just like onepeice, naruto, bleach, etc, there is little central plot (its there, but not really the focus most of the time), but more story arc after story arc stuff, although it does run in a linear fashion. That is assuming that the anime does stick with the manga, which it probably will since fairytail is a pretty popular manga, and upset fans can be scary (as proven with naruto shipuden...)

Re: Fairy Tail
if this series sticks with the manga i'll enjoy it, if it decides to be a short 12 or 24 ep series and cut off with a random thrown together ending i'll be one of the very annoyed fans who will be cursing its creators.
however the first 2 eps were spot on for being faithful to the manga so i think this series will be a success so long as it sticks to that theme. i doubt it will be an epic anime like one piece but definitely an enjoyable one.

I'm pretty sure it's going to be a 50+ eps series, so the second concern should be no more.Jasta85 wrote:if this series sticks with the manga i'll enjoy it, if it decides to be a short 12 or 24 ep series and cut off with a random thrown together ending i'll be one of the very annoyed fans who will be cursing its creators.

I've never seen One Piece, but I'ma sooo be following this. I love the colours in it and the characters are pretty cute. (Dude buddy is known for stripping! STRIPPING! I lol'ed so hard.)
When I started watching it all I could think of was Final Fantasy Guilds! + Slayers. hehe.

Re: Fairy Tail
First 2 episodes pretty much just introduced most of the characters, Looks like from the preview, and my fuzzy memory of the manga at that point, we'll see the beginning of the first story arc with eps 3 :O

Re: Fairy Tail
So is this going to be one of those really long running shows or do we know yet?

Fullbuster Gray is a reason why I chose to look into it. I read through the posts, it doesn't look like Fairy Tail is getting any justice l=Moonlight Soldier wrote:I've never seen One Piece, but I'ma sooo be following this. I'm reading the manga, but right now I like the anime better. I was hoping someone would give more support for the anime >-> since were AMV editors..ya no such luck xD I might like the manga more later down the road, once I'm past at least half of it.
What can I say right now, is.. Sadly it does play up on such naruto aspects, such as this one screenshot was similiar to naruto using kyuubi to natsu using the dragon, and something else Fairy Tail did was similiar to Naruto, but luckily I've forgotten (I've dropped naruto completely for the time being.) I'm optimistic to become a die-hard fan of Fairy Tail. I think its pretty good so far.
Sixth episode, go go go! O:

Re: Fairy Tail
I would assume so considering the animation looks pretty cheap; it definitely looks like A-1 Pictures and Satelite were holding back in most of the episodes, and not to mention the manga is still ongoing. Granted in episode 6 it seemed most of the budget were concentrated on Ezra's transformation sequences and her being total badass.ZephyrStar wrote:So is this going to be one of those really long running shows or do we know yet?

Re: Fairy Tail
Well, the manga is great, and the anime seems rly good so far. You totally get sucked in when they do their kickass scenes. But man, each time Natsu, Gray, Lucy, and Erza!, Does any kind of ability, you get thrown into some kind of cutscene, as if it was a game. It was cool the first 2 episodes, but it's going to get old rly soon. I don't see people liking this 50 episodes + :/
