Uhm, I didn't know about that... might get dq'd, though I'm not sure what's the standard action in a case like this one.kamikadze wrote:http://www.akross.ru/index.cgi?act=video;id=578;l=emirkosp wrote:kamikadze wrote: 2008Nah, 2009, it's in for the votes this year.# Premiered: 2009-01-01

can't help but jump to my defense on this one. the version i entered in Akross is slightly different than the org version.mirkosp wrote:Uhm, I didn't know about that... might get dq'd, though I'm not sure what's the standard action in a case like this one.
either way i assumed VCAs applied only to the org. if the otherwise is true and i would have known, that may have greatly effected my decision of when it was premiered here.

Re: Best Use of Instrumental Music
Well, people have been DQ'd last year for not having entered past years vids, and that was pretty much clear in the VCA rules.
That said, if there are actually enough differences between the two versions that would make this more than a mere quality remaster, then it does need its own entry and is valid. In that case though, you'd technically still need an entry for the akross version, unless you consider the akross version a beta of what the final org version is...

To clarify, the 2010 VCA's do not have such an requirement. It only says that you have to have "premiered it on the Org" from January 1st, which is the premiere date you set. Therefore, you video does indeed qualify for nomination this year as the rules specifically state.Rider4Z wrote:can't help but jump to my defense on this one. the version i entered in Akross is slightly different than the org version.mirkosp wrote:Uhm, I didn't know about that... might get dq'd, though I'm not sure what's the standard action in a case like this one.

However, we will review our rules and consider making a change in the successive years' contests.

You know that I want a 1080p remaster of this, right?
