  • Comments: So I've been in a bit of a deep hole lately, I've been super depressed and just generally feeling down. (Mostly for no reason as is generally the case with me...)

    I recently discovered Breaking Benjamin's new-ish album and found this song to be kinda uplifting, inspiration struck and I started working on this AMV. In total it took about 4 - 5 days to complete, which is a record for me and proves how much faster my new editing workflow is.
    I built the AMV around a core theme or message if you will.
    The message is basically:
    You can overcome whatever it is that is troubling you.
    The message is mostly conveyed through strong imagery such as where Kudryavka hangs from her shackles, and then later in the video she breaks free and escapes from her captor's death prison.
    It's also conveyed in the contrast between Kaori's sickness and her playful personality. There are also other tidbits strewn across here and there in the video.
    I tried to let the video have a bit of a build up from terrible depression to freedom from problems and happiness, which is mostly conveyed through Tamako's amazing smile :)

    PS: I like this format of video, since there are no lyrics in the song it's a lot more fun to time compared to songs with heavy focus on lyrics, so I'll probably be working more on these in the future.
