It has been quite a while since I last worked on a video I truly enjoyed. The Dance series has always been a fun set of projects that I do really just for fun. I've been provided so much help from other editors, friends, twitter mutuals, ect that send me sources to make more of these.

Dance 11 (I know I haven't made 10 yet, but I have plans for it. And Dance 9 was made my SailorDeath) is just that next stage. I started this back in 2015 really but it kept hitting the back burner for various reasons. However in 2020 I really wanted to make something for AWA Pro finally and I wanted to edit something fun. 2020 was not a very fun year so escaping to something I enjoy really helped me through the year.

While I had a ton of source available to me that was the traditional gif footage in the end I wound up not really using any of it. Most of what I used were clips I picked up in mp4 or wemb format as well as full sources I obtained. I had been saying that the last Dance video would be one where I didn't use any gifs at all. But honestly I didn't plan this one to be that way (I have the song picked out for what should be the final entry in the series) so I'm sure I'll keep working on more eventually when I want to blow off steam or really enjoy some fun silly editing.

I started the video doing a lot of my traditional multi source scenes, playing with aspect ratios, and what not. But as I went on I eventually started replacing these scenes with full video clips and longer segments and it all just naturally ended up like it did. For the newest entry in a series that I had been getting more and more complicated with the editing and timing it actually felt nice to make one that went more traditional editing and style. The lack of callbacks to previous entries and what not is also new but all in all I think that adds to the freshness in this entry.

This past year has been a very enlightening time for me personally and after going back through this video I didn't realize how queer this video ended up being. I wasn't trying to pick out so many sources with same sex couples dancing but it just kinda ended up that way. Maybe something subconscious? Who knows. But that's how it was.

It was nice to put this through AWA Pro and not hear non stop complains about 'gif videos' and it seemed like the entrants didn't generally pick this video out as my entry right away. Perhaps the final style didn't fit what I'm known for. Perhaps the entrants haven't seen my stuff before. Either way it was nice to hear mostly positive reviews for one of these videos for once. All I wanted was to make something fun that could be enjoyed and it seems I did that for more then just myself!
