The third week's theme of Project Org Editor 2022 was to make a video that highlights "the wonders and struggles of being a child, and the inevitability of growing up".
I didn't have a lot of time to edit that week, so I made a short self-indulgent video titled "Untapped Potential" pairing my favorite Ghibli film with my favorite Dave Matthews song, which capture some of my own childhood joys and struggles with being artistic. It's a struggle to put your feelings and passions into something material, it's a struggle to share that and hear the opinions and interpretations of others, and it's a struggle to work at it again and again to improve, which is only compounded by all the academic and social pressures that come with being a kid already. But it's worth it to experience the wonders of making art. And having supportive mentors also help a great deal
